📰 Woodward History Spotlight |
🎩 “The PTA’s Magical Night — Woodward, 1934”
In November 1934, excitement filled the halls of Woodward High School as the local Parent-Teacher Association hosted a special evening of magic and wonder. The Woodward County Journal announced a “Magic Entertainment Program” scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd — an event designed to bring the community together for a little lighthearted fun during tough Depression-era times.
Families paid just a few cents for admission and gathered in the school auditorium to see mystifying illusions, comedy tricks, and sleight-of-hand stunts that left children and adults alike in awe. It was one of those small-town nights when everyone came out, laughed together, and forgot their worries for a while.
💡 Did You Know?
Woodward’s schools have hosted community programs for more than 100 years, from pie suppers and talent shows to today’s modern fundraisers and theater productions — proving that hometown entertainment never goes out of style. |

Today, the elevator sits empty, its iconic “Star of David” dark since 1986, sparking tales of when... Read More... |
