🐾 Pet of the Week: Meet Annie!

This sweet girl is Annie (that's what we call her cause she looks so lovable), a 30-pound Aussie mix who just arrived at Woodward Animal Control from Beaver on July 30 — and she's already winning hearts.

Annie is gentle, dog-friendly, and absolutely adores running around in open spaces. While she’s a little shy at first, she warms up quickly once she knows you're kind. She’d thrive in a loving home with space to play and older kids who can enjoy her calm but playful nature.

She’s ready for a second chance could you be the one to give her a forever home?

🌞 Tips for Staying Comfortable This Week

  • Sunday’s Storm Prep: Secure outdoor furniture and turn off sprinkler systems before storms hit. If you're planning afternoon events, have an indoor backup.

  • Midweek Heat Waves: Between Wednesday and Friday, temperatures stay above 100 °F. Stay hydrated, avoid being outdoors during peak heat (typically 11 AM–4 PM), and plan strenuous activity for early morning or evening hours.

  • Event Planning: For events like the National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug 5, expect high heat and some wind—consider shaded seating, cooling stations, and encourage light clothing.

  • Evening Weather: Mornings and evenings may bring slightly cooler temperatures (~68–72 °F), ideal for outdoor strolls or calm early events before the sun peaks.
