City of Woodward Completes Full Rehabilitation of Boomer Tank |
Major Investment Enhances City's Water Infrastructure and Utility Reliability |
The City of Woodward has successfully completed the full rehabilitation of the Boomer Tank, marking a significant investment in the city's water infrastructure and a substantial step forward in ensuring long-term utility reliability.
This project represents the first major update to the tank in over 20 years, addressing critical maintenance needs and modernizing the system to meet current standards.
The rehabilitation of the Boomer Tank is part of a broader initiative to enhance Woodward's water and wastewater systems.
In May 2024, the Woodward Municipal Authority secured an $11.34 million loan from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board to fund various improvements, including water line replacements, emergency backup generators, and the refurbishment of water storage tanks and wastewater treatment facilities.
City Manager Shaun Barnett emphasized the importance of these upgrades, stating, "With the identification of improvements within our community, working with the OWRB makes it positive on moving forward."
Beyond water infrastructure, Woodward is experiencing a wave of development projects aimed at bolstering the city's growth and economic vitality.
These concerted efforts reflect Woodward's commitment to improving infrastructure and fostering community development, ensuring a resilient and thriving future for its residents. |
